5-02 Shopping Trip
Okay, so after Georgian language class we all put our stuff down put our winter coats in and collected our money and went and waiting in the lobby to start our adventure! We all got on a Tlg bus & van and drove off what a sight it was. All of Tbilisi is surrounded by mountains. I tried taking pictures but Gorgi, our bus driver had turned up the heat all the way; with him doing that the windows were all foggy. But once we got to the Goodwill (aka Wal-Mart Superstore) and we were just allowed to run free for forty minutes. Well, my groups of friends were starving so we went to the only cafe inside of the giant goodwill and ate Georgian version of gyros (first actual meal that was soo good), hotel food is kinda getting boring. We are always starving because none of us are really use to the food. So by the time we got finished we had less than ten minutes to actually shop, I grabbed 5-7 chocolate bars. The grand total was 11 lari and that is exactly $6, wish good chocolate was that cheap in the states. So excited for chocolate!!! So when I got back on the bus, I had to sit in the passenger seat which I was excited about because I was able to take really great photos. So stay tuned!!
So the next place was even better experience, because it started snowing, oh was it beautiful! Went to this block of crazy stores that just had markets and rows of just stuff. The first row was like home depot converted into stands lol, and the next row was clothes, and after that it was personal care. Never got a picture because it was a Sunday afternoon so it was super crowded, and I had my first experience of bargaining it did not go well, lol. I got a heater for 17 lari, so around $10. **SIDE NOTE: not using it at the host family** She was very friendly and knew the word for money and minute. Awesome! So we walked around for half an hour and got to the statue with the group and took a few photos with each other.
